Frequently Asked Questions
What is a mid-market exchange rate?
The mid-market rate is the midpoint between the buy price and the sell price in the global currency market. It is the most neutral benchmark rate and is used by financial institutions as a reference. It is different from the rate your broker or bank offers, which typically includes a markup or spread.
Why is the rate shown different from what my broker quotes?
Brokers and banks add a spread or markup to the mid-market rate to cover their costs and make a profit. The rate shown in this converter is the raw mid-market rate without any markup, which means it will almost always be slightly more favourable than what you receive from a broker or when exchanging currency at a bank.
How often are the exchange rates updated?
Rates are sourced from a live data provider and updated once every 24 hours. For the purposes of trading reference and funded account planning, this provides a reliable and accurate daily benchmark.
Why is CNH listed instead of CNY?
CNH refers to the offshore Chinese yuan traded outside mainland China, which is the version used in international forex trading. CNY is the onshore rate and is subject to tighter government controls. Funded7 supports CNH pairs in trading, so the converter uses the CNH rate for consistency.
Can I use this converter to calculate the value of my funded account in my local currency?
Yes. Enter your account balance in USD or the denomination of your funded account, select your local currency as the target, and the converter will show you the current equivalent value. This is useful for tracking your real-world account value as exchange rates fluctuate.
Are the rates the same ones used in the trading calculators?
Yes. All five Funded7 calculators use the same live rate feed, so the exchange rates you see in the currency converter are consistent with those used in the margin, pip value, P&L, and target closing price calculators.
