What is the Profit & Loss Calculator?
Before placing a trade, it is important to understand what your potential gain or loss will be in real monetary terms. The P&L Calculator lets you simulate any trade by entering your opening and closing prices, so you can plan your trades with full clarity.
The Funded7 Profit & Loss Calculator computes your trade result in your account currency using live exchange rates. It also shows you the pip movement and pip value so you have a complete picture of your trade.
How to use it
- Select your asset class using the pills at the top.
- Choose your symbol from the dropdown.
- Select your account currency: USD or JPY.
- Choose your direction: Buy or Sell.
- Set your volume in lots.
- Enter your opening price — the price at which you entered the trade.
- Enter your closing price — the price at which you exited or plan to exit.
- The calculator instantly shows your profit or loss in your account currency, the pips gained or lost, and the pip value for the position.
Example: You buy 2 lots of GBP/USD at 1.27000 and close at 1.27500. The calculator will show your profit in USD, the 50 pip gain, and the pip value for your position size.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the calculator include spread or commission in the result?
No. The P&L calculator shows the raw profit or loss based purely on the price difference between entry and exit. Spread and commission are broker-specific and vary by account type. For a more accurate net result, subtract your broker’s spread and any applicable commission from the calculated figure.
How is P&L calculated for a short (sell) trade?
For a sell trade, profit is made when the price falls. The calculator measures the difference between your opening price and the lower closing price, then multiplies by the position size and pip value conversion. The same formula applies in reverse — if the closing price is higher than your entry, the result will show a loss.
Can I use this calculator for indices and crypto?
Yes. The calculator supports all asset classes available on the Funded7 platform including indices such as NAS100, SP500, and DAX40, as well as crypto pairs including BTC/USD, ETH/USD, and others. The correct contract size and price conversion are applied automatically for each instrument.
Why is my P&L shown in USD even though I trade a non-USD pair like EUR/GBP?
When your account currency is USD and you trade a pair quoted in a different currency, the calculator converts the result using the current exchange rate between the quote currency and your account currency. This gives you the real-world P&L figure as it would appear in your funded account.
What is the difference between pips gained and P&L?
Pips gained or lost shows the raw price movement in pip terms. P&L translates that movement into monetary value based on your position size and account currency. Two trades with the same pip count can have very different P&L figures if the lot sizes or pip values differ.
Can I use this to check if a trade met Funded7's profit target?
Yes. Enter your opening and closing prices for any trade and the calculator will show you the exact profit or loss in your account currency, making it straightforward to verify whether a trade contributed to or detracted from your challenge progress.
